Icon Books and Foyles have teamed up for a big ideas series of brilliant live events around Icon's Introducing series, on Big Ideas in Science, Philosophy, Politics - and much more besides. Imagine the BBC's Bang Goes the Theory, live - but with a little more talk and a few less explosions...
Chaired by Introducing author, journalist, TV presenter, commentator and general polymath Ziauddin Sardar, each event explores a particular big concept from the history of ideas.
For each of these talks in London Zia will be joined by a stellar range of guests including Darian Leader, Julian Baggini to Manjit Kumar and talk about each idea. All events take place at Foyles Bookstore on Charing Cross Road in Central London and all are entirely FREE - just book yourself a place by emailing events@foyles.co.uk. Leicester Square or Tottenham Court Road are the nearest tube stations.
The first event, with the author of the bestselling Quantum, Manjit Kumar, discussing relativity and science's biggest ideas of the twentieth century, happened on 15th September 2009 and was a great success. Places for the remaining events are going fast so get yours now!
All events start at 6.30pm
